Hoy quiero hablar de una tierra maravillosa, llena de colores, montañas, flores, lagos y ríos, un lugar mágico, que te hace sentir como si estuvieras en una película de ciencia ficción! En un lugar de los Andes venezolanos, soy parte de esto, soy Andina como mi montaña y como estos hermosos paisajes, en Venezuela Los Andes están conformados por dos regiones: Táchira y Mérida (vivo en la primera), este paseo lo hice en el Estado Mérida. Y es que desde que pisas el estado Mérida y su ciudad principal todo tiene una vibra increíble, dentro de ella existen incluso sitios muy bonitos como el Jardín Botánico de unas de sus mas prestigiosas universidades!

Así mismo, existen otros sitios como el zoológico, que aunque no soy muy fan de este tipo de lugares, esta rodeado de diversidad de plantas, e incluso una cascada muy bonita!

Ahora bien, arrancamos el paseo! lo que me mueve: la aventura: recorriendo varios pueblitos y saliendo desde la ciudad de Mérida, vamos percibiendo como la temperatura comienza a bajar a medida que se asciende a los Paramos, pero al mismo tiempo el calor de su gente te comienza a arropar, todos te quieren echar el cuento, todo es una risa, una broma y siempre está el que te ofrece las ricas fresas con crema, un postre muy típico de la zona.

Pasando a través de estos pueblitos, llegamos a nuestro destino: El Páramo De La Laguna Mucubaji! Situada entre 3625-3655 msnm, en el Parque Sierra Nevada, esta es una de las más grandes de la región y se cree que el nombre de la laguna se debe a cómo la nombraban los habitantes indígenas de la región. Mucubají significa en dicho dialecto: "Sitio del agua grande"

Located between 3625-3655 masl, in the Sierra Nevada Park, this is one of the largest in the region and it is believed that the name of the lagoon is due to how it was named by the indigenous inhabitants of the region. Mucubají means in that dialect: "Sitio del agua grande"

Viajar con amigos es muy importante, o con familia, pero siempre respetando la diversidad biológica y preservándola, yo creo que para hacer crecer nuestro turismo debemos empezar desde casa a aprender a disfrutar de estos hermosos paisajes sin dañar nada, decirle desde el más chiquito que está aprendiendo a vivir hasta incluso al más grande y mañoso que cuiden, que respeten y amen los paisajes preservando su fauna y flora, creo que esto es una de mis metas como Ingeniero Ambiental, que en Venezuela se promueva el turismo ecológico!

Traveling with friends is very important, or with family, but always respecting biological diversity and preserving it, I believe that to grow our tourism we must start from home to learn to enjoy these beautiful landscapes without damaging anything, to tell from the smallest is learning to live up to even the biggest and cunning that care, to respect and love the landscapes preserving their fauna and flora, I think this is one of my goals as an Environmental Engineer, that in Venezuela is promoting ecological tourism!

El paisaje y sus alrededores, solo nos enseña que somos unas cositas pequeñitas, en un universo tan grande, y que juntos representan un todo para lograr completar paisajes como estos:

Continuando el recorrido llegamos a un pueblito llamado "San Rafael del Páramo de Mucuchíes" considerado el pueblo más alto de Venezuela, es una pequeña aldea del estado Mérida ubicada sobre una meseta aluvial en los Andes venezolanos a 3140 msnm y a orillas de la carretera Trasandina, el cual tiene como principal atractivo la iglesia y casa de piedra, antes de mostrar las fotografías, quiero dejarles un trozo de historia acerca de este lugar:

El artista venezolano Juan Félix Sánchez nació en el pueblo de San Rafael del Páramo de Mucuchíes en el año de 1900 y vivió los primeros años de su vida. Su casa natal aún se conserva y en ella se encuentra el Museo de Los Andes, su voluntad fue construir el museo en el terreno contiguo a la casa.

Actualmente la casa aloja buena parte de su obra y justo al lado de esta casa, en las afueras del pueblo en dirección Este se encuentra la Capilla de la Virgen de Coromoto construida por Sánchez y nativos de San Rafael y de El Tisure con apoyo de la Universidad de los Andes. Esta capilla de piedra, como se le llama, fue construida íntegramente a mano en los años 1980 - 1984, a base de rocas, conchas, corales y cemento y fue declarada patrimonio cultural de Venezuela.

También se creó la Biblioteca Juan Félix Sánchez y Epifania Gil, compañera del artista, que funciona en una construcción ubicada frente a la casa y la Capilla. nota Hallazgos arqueológicos que se remontan a 450 años, Mérida 1956 (Ofripen) el Dr Renato Pennino del Cuerpo Consular Italiano acreditado en esta ciudad ha llevado a efecto varias exploraciones arqueológicas en la cercanía de la población de San Rafael en esta Entidad Federal, y logró encontrar varios objetos de cerámica (entre ellos un puma, una cabeza de ídolo, un ídolo entero varios instrumentos musicales en barro, una figurilla semejante a un ángel, un cincel de silice). Estos últimos objetos se cree los llevaban colgados al pecho los indios. El Dr. Pennino, quien practica en sus días de descanso estas investigaciones, dice que posiblemente los objetos hallados pertenecieron a los indios Timoto-cuicas y Timemes que habitaron esa región hace más de 450 años. También se consiguió una momia que fue donada a la Universidad de los Andes.
